Decision to suspend the activity of a medical waste collection and transportation company in Ouarzazate

Alalam24, Morocco’s Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, has issued a decision to immediately suspend the activity of a company that collects and transports medical and pharmaceutical waste of the first and second categories.

The decision was taken after the ministry received a report from the Royal Gendarmerie concerning the company’s violations of the law on waste management.

The violations include:

Failure to comply with the terms of reference approved by the ministry.Use of unauthorized machinery;

Hiring of new employees without authorization;

The company’s trucks were caught dumping their loads in a public landfill, posing a risk to the environment and residents of the area;

The decision will be served to the company urgently by a judicial commissioner. It is expected that an appeal will be filed with the International Arbitration Court against the decision of the Disciplinary Committee, which decided to lift the previous sanctions against the national coach.

In addition, the governor of Ouarzazate region has dismissed the sixth deputy mayor of the Tremict commune from his duties for signing a license for the same company without authorization from the mayor.
