WhatsApp continues to enhance its privacy standards for users, with a recent report revealing the development of a new feature aimed at limiting others’ ability to save photos or videos sent within chats. This approach is quite similar to the “disappearing messages” feature previously introduced by the app.
This new feature, which is still under development, will allow users to enable additional privacy settings for each individual conversation. It will also disable the option to export chat history and block the use of Meta’s AI tools within those specific chats.
The feature is expected to significantly improve the protection of personal data, especially in conversations that contain sensitive or private information. While users can currently export any conversation, the upcoming feature will restrict this capability, giving account owners full control over how their data is handled.
Although still in its early stages, media sources suggest the feature could be rolled out in the coming weeks or months — a move that reflects WhatsApp’s ongoing commitment to redefining digital security and personal privacy in the online world.
