NASA Prepares to Launch the “Dragon” Cargo Spacecraft to the International Space Station

NASA announced that it is preparing to launch the “Dragon” cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station tomorrow, Tuesday, May 11, as part of a new resupply mission for the orbiting laboratory.

The agency explained that the spacecraft will lift off as part of the “CRS-34” mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida aboard a SpaceX rocket.

The launch is scheduled for 7:16 p.m. Eastern Time in the United States, while the spacecraft is expected to arrive and dock with the International Space Station on the morning of May 14 at approximately 9:50 a.m.

NASA also stated that the “Dragon” spacecraft will carry nearly 2,984.3 kilograms of cargo, including water, food supplies, and provisions for astronauts, in addition to scientific equipment and materials intended for research experiments aboard the station.

The agency added that the spacecraft will remain attached to the International Space Station until mid-June before undocking and returning to Earth carrying samples from scientific experiments conducted in orbit.
