Alalam24 ,Moroccan Minister of National Education, Primary Education, and Sports, Shakib Benmoussa, emphasized the commitment to make the upcoming school year a pivotal one in advancing the public education system. This effort aims to nurture open-minded and successful students in their academic, social, and professional journeys
During a press conference introducing the latest updates for the 2024/2023 school year, Benmoussa outlined a series of structured projects and measures. These initiatives, established over the past two academic seasons, reflect a collaborative approach to educational development
In this context, the minister noted that various innovative projects and measures had been tested, educators had been trained in them, and the necessary material and logistical support had been provided. He stressed that these reform initiatives would be implemented with effective governance, focusing on bringing about change within the classrooms, rigorous experimentation, and regular evaluation to achieve the set goals and expected impact
Benmoussa mentioned that approximately 8 million students enrolled in primary, secondary, and preparatory education in both public and private sectors. To ensure a smooth start to the academic year, the ministry had taken necessary preparatory steps, including enhancing school infrastructure, providing teaching resources, and organizing educational support
Furthermore, the new school year aligns with the ongoing implementation of royal directives to reform the Moroccan education system. These directives led to the establishment of Framework Law No. 51.17 concerning the education, training, and scientific research system. They also defined the priorities of the government’s action program in the field of education and training
The minister reiterated the call for all stakeholders and partners to actively participate in the transformative journey of the new school year. Through collaborative efforts, the aim is to bring about the desired qualitative transformation of the public school system. This transformation is geared towards academic and intellectual development, human capital growth, and achieving economic, social, and cultural integration, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI
