Morocco Welcomes HCL Tech’s New Software Center
Alalam24, Today, Monday, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, the Prime Minister of Morocco, received Ms. Roshni Nadar, the Chairperson of HCL Tech Group, a leading Indian conglomerate that has chosen Morocco to establish a new software development and support center for its global clientele
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, Ms. Roshni Nadar, during her visit to Morocco, will inaugurate the official opening of the software center in Technopolis Rabat, along with Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the Minister of Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation, and Ms. Ghita Mzouri, the Minister of Digital Transformation and Administrative Modernization
The statement highlights that this investment will create over 1000 high-skilled job opportunities. The negotiations for this project started in 2021 and culminated in 2022 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the parties involved
This project is expected to boost the software development and services sector in Morocco, particularly in the areas of coding and information technology services
The statement also mentions that thanks to the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has been actively engaged in digital transformation, aiming to give a new impetus to social and economic development in the country
In response to this development, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the Minister of Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation, warmly welcomed HCL Tech Group to Morocco, expressing his conviction that their presence will be a strong driving force for growth in the information technology and services sector, offering numerous opportunities for talented Moroccan youth
Mr. Elalamy emphasized that “this strategic investment by HCL Tech Group will contribute to strengthening the deep-rooted economic and cultural ties between India and Morocco”
On her part, Ms. Roshni Nadar, Chairperson of HCL Tech Group, stated, “I am delighted to launch our operations in Morocco to implement digital transformation projects for the benefit of our clients.” She added, “Within our group, we believe that delivering the best in technology along with the dynamism of our team will lead to progress not only for our clients but also for our teams, communities, and our planet”
