Alalam24, On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Saudi writer Mishal Abdulrahman Al-Mulhim published a tweet on his official Twitter account, raising questions about Western narratives regarding the Middle East
In his tweet, he stated, “The West’s narrative of Middle East events has made me doubt their accounts of World War II, their story of World War I, and all the wars they have fought, all the battles they have won. Was Hitler truly a criminal as they depict? Were Native Americans truly backward as they claimed? Were Australia’s indigenous peoples as savage as they portray?”
Al-Mulhim continued, “I doubt everything they have documented throughout history. They manipulate the present while we bear witness to it. So, what about the past, when we were absent? They distort the scenes while we experience them. How can we trust them to convey the past?”
He concluded his tweet by saying, “History is a library manipulated by the powerful and accepted by the weak. It is a story crafted by the victor, promoted by the defeated. As long as the pen is held by the victor, the ink is their ink, and the notebook is their notebook, history will remain molded by whoever wields the pen”
