Unifying Social Security Administration in Morocco”

Alalam24, In a significant move, Morocco is poised for substantial changes in its social security administration. Information suggests that the government is preparing to transfer the management of social security from the National Fund for Health Insurance (CNOPS) to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS)

An earlier bill has been prepared for this purpose and has already passed through the General Secretariat of the Government. It is expected that this bill will soon be presented in the Council of Government to complete the legislative procedures

The aim of this step is to unify the administration of social security for Moroccan citizens. This involves integrating the beneficiaries of social security in the public sector, managed by CNOPS, into a single system along with the other CNSS systems

Currently, studies and research are underway to understand the potential effects of this change. Despite the clear intention to achieve unification, there are significant challenges that need to be addressed

As Morocco moves forward with this transition, careful monitoring of the forthcoming developments in the social security sector is crucial. Ensuring that any changes achieve the desired objectives and efficiently provide social services for citizens is a top priority. Collaboration between the government and all stakeholders will be essential for the success of this significant transformation
