In a groundbreaking move in the field of artificial intelligence, China has launched its first advanced model dedicated to diagnosing rare diseases, named “Bomech-Genesis,” at the Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing, one of the leading medical centers specializing in this field.
This model was developed in collaboration between the hospital and the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with testing underway to assess its ability to provide initial diagnostic consultations and schedule examination appointments.
Based on accumulated knowledge of rare diseases and genetic data specific to the Chinese population, “Bomech-Genesis” has been designed as the first artificial intelligence model tailored specifically to the demographic characteristics of China.
