French Foreign Minister Commends Morocco’s Development Dynamics
Alalam24, During a joint press conference in Rabat, French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, expressed his admiration for the development dynamics witnessed in Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI
Le Drian, alongside Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, highlighted the significant changes in Morocco. He praised the reforms and projects led by King Mohammed VI, emphasizing the focus on human development within the country’s developmental model
Addressing the bilateral relations, Le Drian affirmed the commitment of Paris and Rabat to renew and deepen their “exceptional” ties. He spoke of a “clear” and “ambitious” roadmap to address new challenges and stressed the need for joint projects that meet the expectations of both nations
Le Drian, in his first visit to Morocco since taking office, underscored the shared interests between the two countries, expressing their desire to build a “solid and fruitful” partnership for the next thirty years. He highlighted key areas where collaboration is essential
In the press conference that followed his discussions with Bourita, Le Drian emphasized the need for a clear and ambitious approach to address challenges. He urged responding to the expectations of the youth and transforming the economy to face the rapidly changing world
Recognizing the immense challenges in technological, environmental, and security fields, Le Drian expressed confidence in tackling these issues ambitiously. He called for drawing strength from the deep, exceptional, and unique ties between France and Morocco, which have enabled overcoming many challenges
Le Drian also called for a leading partnership in renewable energy, training, and innovative industry. He emphasized the possibility of joint initiatives to address global challenges such as climate change, wealth sharing, education, food security, counter-terrorism, and the promotion of human rights
On another note, Le Drian stressed the importance of France and Morocco contributing to peace and security amid multiple crises globally, particularly highlighting the situations in Ukraine and Gaza. He praised Morocco’s prominent role in contributing to development and security in Africa
