According to the same source, citing the founder of the company “Layoffs.fyi” which specializes in tracking layoffs in the sector since the health crisis, technology companies are seeking to overcome the effect of the large-scale hiring wave during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, the economic situation characterized by rising interest rates since 2022 and the slowdown in the technology sector that has lasted longer than expected, and in addition to these economic factors, technology companies emphasize the attraction to artificial intelligence technology. An analysis by a company that tracks hiring trends in this sector showed an increase of 2,000 job openings in the field of artificial intelligence or requiring its skills between December and January, to reach 17,479.
However, the American news agency noted that despite the wave of layoffs, the sector continues to hire with more than 30,000 job openings last January.
