Call for a comprehensive water management policy in Morocco

Alalam24, A group of civil society voices in Morocco have called for the implementation of a comprehensive water management policy, stressing the need for new solutions.

These solutions include “strengthening surveillance of private swimming pools, which consume large amounts of water when filling tanks several times.”

Defenders of this opinion emphasize the importance of excluding any contentious measures or social discrimination, while emphasizing the difficulty of the current situation that defines the discussion.

Although we are in winter, when the need to use swimming pools decreases, comments from citizens and environmental activists renew the call to consider this aspect, as they consider it “an absent aspect of the dialogue, at a time when the country is witnessing a waste of the water wealth that must be seriously considered in reducing it,” which raises a new debate about the policies chosen by the authorities regarding the closure of public baths and car wash shops for three days a week.
