Yesterday evening, on the occasion of the International Agriculture Fair, which will be hosted by Meknes from May 2nd to May 7th, a ceremony was held to deliver eight new buses to the urban transport company “City Bus Meknes”. The event was attended by an official delegation led by the governor of Meknes, accompanied by the president of the Meknes municipality and the president of the prefectural council, as well as members of the municipal council, civilian and military personalities, and representatives of the media

According to Mr. Khalid Azelmat, the CEO of City Bus, the delivery of these new buses is part of an investment program that began by purchasing 103 buses during its first phase from 2016-2022. This year, the urban transport fleet will be reinforced with 14 large buses with an investment of 21 million dirhams. By the end of 2023, a total of 117 buses are expected to enter service under this investment, which is estimated at 125 million dirhams. The new batch of 8 buses is the first part of the 14 programmed for this year, followed by another 6 buses in the coming months, with the addition of three more buses in the coming years according to the third appendix of the agreement

The new buses are characterized by their large size, with 43 seats, and their doors are designed in a way that facilitates the entry and exit of passengers. They also provide a range of free services such as internet, air conditioning, and surveillance cameras, while taking into account the aesthetic aspect of the trip by using a special type of glass for the windows. This event falls within the framework of the contractual annex No. 3 for investment, which has been implemented by purchasing 103 buses since 2016 until 2022
