A scientific study has revealed that taking the stairs instead of using elevators could be one of the simplest ways to improve health and increase longevity.
Researchers found that this simple habit is associated with a 24% lower risk of death from any cause and up to a 39% reduction in the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Sophie Paddock from the University of East Anglia presented these findings at the European Society of Cardiology conference in Athens, emphasizing that even short bursts of activity, such as stair climbing, can reduce the risk of premature death.
Growing scientific evidence shows that regular exercise can significantly lower the risk of early death and heart disease. Therefore, health experts recommend at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity physical activity.
