YouTube launches a new feature

YouTube has announced the rollout of a new option that allows users to hide the suggestions that usually appear at the end of videos.

According to the platform, a “Hide” button will now be visible in the upper right corner of the video player. Once clicked, the recommendation windows that normally pop up after the video ends will disappear. It’s important to note that this setting applies only to the video currently being watched, not to all videos in general. Users can easily re-enable the display by selecting the “Show” option.

This feature aims to provide a smoother viewing experience, allowing users to watch a video until the end without being interrupted by suggested content. It also helps viewers stay focused on the original video without distractions.

The update comes in response to user feedback requesting fewer distracting elements, in order to create a more streamlined and focused viewing experience.

In addition, YouTube announced another change: the removal of the subscription button that used to appear when hovering over the channel watermark. The platform confirmed that the “Subscribe” button is still clearly available below the video player.
