Moroccan Football Coach Walid Regragui Supports Achraf Hakimi Against Rape Allegation
Alalam24, Moroccan national football team coach, Walid Regragui, expressed his full support for Achraf Hakimi in facing a rape allegation in France
During the announcement of the players’ list in the city of Salé, Regragui stated that Hakimi is calm and they are with him, hoping he can prove his innocence
“We sincerely stand with him, and it would be beneficial for him to feel our support if he returns to Morocco. He is a strong person on and off the field, and he should focus on football first. Others will take care of these matters on his behalf,” added Regragui
On March 3, Hakimi was charged with rape after being accused by a 24-year-old woman of raping her in his house in Boulogne-Billancourt on February 25. His lawyer affirmed that it was “an attempted blackmail”
On the other hand, the Moroccan coach maintains confidence in the group that participated in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and reached the semifinals, achieving a historic achievement for Arab and African football
Regragui hopes that Hakimi will continue to deliver his fantastic performances on the field, and that his innocence will be proven in the ongoing case against him
