NASA: Artemis II Astronauts Reach Midpoint Between Earth and the Moon

The Artemis II mission reached the halfway point between Earth and the Moon on Saturday, as confirmed by NASA on its official social media accounts.

According to “France 24,” the four astronauts continue to approach the Moon in preparation for orbiting it in the coming days, marking the first mission of this kind since 1972.

Tracking data provided by the agency online shows that the Orion spacecraft is now at a distance of 219,000 kilometers from Earth, with a similar distance remaining to reach the vicinity of the Moon.

The astronauts — Americans Christina Koch, Victor Glover, and Reid Wiseman, along with Canadian Jeremy Hansen — are documenting their time in space themselves using smartphones and cameras, while NASA is broadcasting live footage of the mission.
