The Benefits of Cinnamon for Diabetics: Between Reality and Medical Caution

Cinnamon is considered an aromatic spice rich in health benefits. Medical research has shown that it may help regulate blood sugar levels by enhancing the effectiveness of insulin, the hormone responsible for transporting glucose into cells.

This effect could allow the body to better manage spikes in blood sugar, especially after meals, thereby reducing complications associated with fluctuations in glucose levels.

However, despite these promising results, no clear daily dosage of cinnamon has been established to achieve these benefits. Doctors therefore advise against using it as a substitute for medical treatment. Instead, it can be included in the diet in moderation, and always under medical supervision. Excessive consumption may have harmful effects, particularly on liver health.
