The instant messaging platform WhatsApp has announced the rollout of a new feature designed to improve communication within groups by allowing users to view a dedicated information page for each member.
This feature provides quick access to basic details about group participants and also enables users to start a private chat or make a voice or video call directly, without leaving the group interface.
The member information page appears when tapping on a user’s profile photo within the group. It offers additional options, including verification of the security code to ensure encryption integrity and confirm the user’s identity. It also includes tools specifically designed for group administrators, allowing them to easily promote members to admin status or remove them from the group.
WhatsApp confirmed that this feature is currently available in the latest beta version on Android, and will be gradually rolled out to all users in the coming period.
