YouTube Shuts Down Two Popular Channels After Publishing Fake AI-Generated Promotional Content

YouTube has recently taken strict action against two channels that used artificial intelligence technologies to produce fake movie trailers.

A YouTube spokesperson told CNET that the two channels, Screen Culture and KH Studio, were permanently shut down after repeatedly violating the platform’s policies.

Based in India and Georgia respectively, the two channels together had around two million subscribers and accumulated more than one billion views combined, according to the report.

This move comes after YouTube had earlier this year suspended advertising on both channels. Jack Malon, a YouTube spokesperson, said in a statement to CNET:

“Following the initial suspension, the two channels attempted to make the necessary corrections to rejoin the YouTube Partner Program. However, once monetization was restored, they once again clearly violated our policies related to repetitive content and misleading metadata, which led to the termination of their presence on the platform.”

Now, when attempting to access either channel, a message appears stating:

“This page isn’t available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else.”
