With rising temperatures during the summer, smartphones face real risks that could lead to complete damage. Tech companies advise caution when using electronic devices in extremely hot conditions.
One of the harmful habits some people resort to for quickly cooling their phones is placing them in the refrigerator—a move strongly discouraged by experts. This can lead to moisture buildup inside the device and damage its internal components.
To prevent such issues, it’s recommended to avoid using your phone under direct sunlight or in very hot enclosed spaces, especially while charging.
It’s also advisable to reduce phone activity when it starts heating up and to enable the “power-saving mode” to ease the load on the processor.
If you notice your phone getting hot, a report by USA Today suggests placing it in a shaded area and allowing it to cool naturally.
Finally, closing unnecessary apps—or even turning the phone off entirely—can be an effective way to speed up the cooling process and restore the device’s normal performance.
