United States launches “FIFA PASS” to fast-track visas for 2026 World Cup fans

The U.S. Department of State has announced the launch of a special service called FIFA PASS, which allows FIFA World Cup 2026™ ticket holders traveling to the United States to obtain priority visa interview appointments ahead of the tournament.

The initiative was unveiled during an official event at the White House attended by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, members of the White House Task Force, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The new system aims to streamline travel procedures for fans planning to attend matches in the United States.

FIFA PASS will be available to ticket holders starting in early 2026, giving them access to faster-than-usual visa appointment scheduling.

Eleven U.S. cities are preparing to host 78 matches in the first-ever 48-team FIFA World Cup™, alongside host cities in Mexico and Canada.

Commenting on the initiative, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said:
“America welcomes the world. We have always said that this edition will be the biggest and most inclusive in history, and the FIFA PASS service is a clear example of that.”

He added:
“I express my sincere gratitude to President Donald J. Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Executive Director Andrew Giuliani, and the White House Task Force for their tremendous support. The United States is preparing to welcome fans from all over the world on an unprecedented scale, and we are working to ensure that football unites the globe when the tournament kicks off in North America next June.”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated:
“The United States is offering expedited appointments so World Cup fans can complete their visa interviews and prove their eligibility. The kickoff is approaching, so now is the time to apply. We are honored to host the biggest and safest World Cup in history.”

According to FIFA data, more than six million tickets will be available for the 2026 edition, which will be held across 16 Host Cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The U.S. authorities also clarified that fans from countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) may travel through the ESTA system without needing a traditional visa.

Based on a joint study released by FIFA and the World Trade Organization, the tournament is expected to generate 185,000 jobs, produce USD 30.5 billion in total economic output, and contribute USD 17.2 billion to the U.S. GDP.
