Direct Social Support Requests Exceed 4.4 Million
Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, announced that the number of applications registered on the “direct social support” platform has reached 4.4 million by the end of April 2024. This announcement was made during her speech at a session of the Council of Advisors last Tuesday evening.
Fettah confirmed that the Kingdom has adopted modern and transparent mechanisms to register families in need of social support, noting that the number of families that have benefited from this support amounts to 3.346 million.
Despite some criticism and problems encountered in the calculation and registration process, the Minister reiterated the government’s efforts to provide social support to needy families, describing the program as a “structured project and the embodiment of the social state” that has become a reality since December 2023.
