Moroccan artist Hind Sdassi has ignited a heated debate following her recent statements expressing her categorical rejection of the idea that a wife should contribute to the household’s financial responsibilities.

During an interview with journalist Chahrazad Akrroud, Sdassi asserted that financial responsibility lies solely with the husband, while the wife’s role is limited to providing moral and emotional support.

Explaining her stance, Sdassi stated, “The husband is the primary provider for the family’s financial needs, and I don’t believe it’s acceptable for the wife to share this responsibility.” She added that even if she earned a substantial income, she still considers the husband responsible for her and the family’s financial needs.

She explicitly stated, “Even if I earn a lot every month, I remain your responsibility.” These remarks have sparked widespread debate on social media, with supporters arguing that her perspective reflects societal traditions, while opponents contend that marital relationships should be based on equal partnership.
