Google has announced the launch of its new AI programming agent, “Joules”, which can automatically correct and update code, allowing developers to focus on more complex programming tasks.
Operating asynchronously, Joules is powered by the Gemini 2.5 Pro model and integrates with Microsoft’s GitHub platform to clone and process code within Google’s cloud environment.
With its official release, Google is offering a free version that allows users to perform 15 tasks per day, along with paid subscription plans under the Google AI Pro and Ultra tiers, which provide higher usage limits.
This announcement follows the beta release of the tool unveiled two months ago at the Google I/O developer conference. Kathy Korevec, Product Director at Google Labs, stated that improving the tool’s stability and quality through hundreds of updates was the main reason for making it officially available to users.
