Alalam24, Morocco’s Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, reaffirmed today in Rabat that the government is in the process of developing mechanisms to ensure that the reconstruction of homes in earthquake-damaged areas of Al Hoceima takes place under exemplary conditions
Mr. Akhannouch stated in a press conference following the third meeting of the ministerial committee responsible for devising an urgent program to rehabilitate and support the reconstruction of demolished homes in earthquake-affected regions that, “Within this ministerial committee, the government is continuously working and thinking about the mechanisms that would make the reconstruction process proceed under exemplary conditions”
He explained that today’s meeting was an opportunity to first identify the mechanisms that guarantee the optimal implementation of this social program in line with the High Royal Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This program is an execution of the measures announced by His Majesty last Thursday. Furthermore, he noted that technical committees are working in the field to assess the homes that have completely or partially collapsed
Regarding the Royal Instructions to restructure these areas and provide them with new development prospects, Mr. Akhannouch added that the meeting also discussed the nature of significant investments that could be considered in the future
His Majesty King Mohammed VI issued his royal instructions during a working session held on Saturday, September 9th, to examine the situation in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, leading to the immediate establishment of the ministerial committee responsible for devising an urgent program to rehabilitate and support the reconstruction of demolished homes in earthquake-affected areas
