A recent study has found that children who use smartphones or watch television while eating are more likely to gain weight.
Researchers from the University of Minho in Portugal conducted a study involving 735 children aged 6 to 10 years.
The study found that children who were allowed to use smart devices or watch television while eating were 15% more likely to gain weight than those who were not allowed to do so.
The researchers also believe that children’s preoccupation with screens while eating interferes with their ability to recognize cues of fullness, leading them to eat larger amounts of food.
