In a diplomatic message expressing deep appreciation and respect for Morocco and its leadership, the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Amir Ohana, sent a letter of congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the historic achievement of the Moroccan U-20 national football team, following its triumphant victory at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The letter was written in an elevated and formal tone, highlighting the prominent position Morocco now occupies on the international sports scene. It also praised the far-sighted royal vision that has made investment in youth, sports, and education a cornerstone of human development in the Kingdom.
In his message, the Knesset Speaker affirmed that this global triumph by the young Moroccan team is “a natural outcome of the talent, discipline, and determination that distinguish the youth of the Kingdom.” He emphasized that the victory was no coincidence, but rather the fruit of serious work and meticulous planning, reflecting His Majesty the King’s vision of making sports a driver of progress and national cohesion.
Ohana added that winning the world title represents “a source of pride for the entire Moroccan nation and an inspiration to young people across the region.” He stressed that what the Moroccan team has accomplished embodies the image of a new Morocco—ambitious, creative, and capable of competing at the highest international levels, thanks to the state’s continuous support and commitment to nurturing skilled generations able to raise the national flag in all fields.
The Speaker of the Israeli Knesset also expressed his deep admiration for the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, commending the Kingdom’s policies aimed at strengthening social and economic development, and transforming Morocco into a regional model of stability, openness, and modernization.
The letter also carried a personal note, as Ohana referred to his pride in his Moroccan roots and his deep attachment to the human and cultural bonds uniting the Moroccan and Israeli peoples. He expressed his hope that Morocco would continue to serve as a beacon of excellence and creativity in various domains—especially in sports, which he described as a universal language that unites nations around values of respect, tolerance, and achievement.
The Speaker concluded his message by extending his highest expressions of esteem and respect to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, wishing him continued health, wisdom, and success in leading the Kingdom of Morocco toward greater prosperity and leadership.
He affirmed that the Moroccan national team’s triumph at the U-20 World Cup will remain a landmark moment in the history of world football, and yet another proof of Morocco’s prestigious standing on the international stage.
