Meta has announced the launch of a new generation of Oakley smart glasses, developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, and equipped with Meta’s proprietary AI assistant technology, the company behind Facebook.
The Oakley Meta Helux-Stan glasses are specifically designed to meet the needs of athletes. Priced starting at $399, they are the latest result of the ongoing collaboration between the two companies.
Meta and EssilorLuxottica first released a line of smart glasses in 2021, followed by a successful second edition in 2023.
In its statement, Meta noted that the new glasses feature Oakley’s advanced Prizm lenses, which help athletes enhance vision under various lighting and weather conditions.
The Helux-Stan model also boasts an improved battery life and an upgraded camera compared to the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta model, which starts at $299.
The glasses come with the Meta AI digital assistant and a companion smartphone app, allowing users to check the weather or record videos hands-free while on the move.
Available in a range of frame and lens colors, including grey frames with red lenses and black frames with black lenses, the glasses are also water-resistant.
