Denmark has stopped delivering traditional mail after the Swedish-Danish postal company PostNord delivered its final letters on Tuesday, bringing to an end 401 years of postal history in the country.
According to Sky News Arabia, Denmark has become the first country in Europe to completely halt the delivery of traditional mail.
Denmark is one of the most digitally advanced countries in the world. The volume of letters has declined by 90 percent since 2000, the state-owned company announced in March when the decision was revealed, adding that it intends to focus entirely on parcel delivery as online shopping continues to grow.
The very last letter was delivered on Tuesday to the Enigma Museum of Communications in Copenhagen, where it has become a permanent part of the exhibition.
