South Korea’s Ministry of Transport announced on yesterday that five major automakers, including Mercedes-Benz Korea, Volkswagen Group Korea, Toyota Motor Korea, Stellantis Korea, and Ford Sales & Service Korea, will recall over 15,000 vehicles from the market due to defects in certain components. According to the ministry, the recall affects 15,671 units across 11 different models.
Among these companies, Mercedes-Benz has decided to recall 4,289 units of two models, including the S580 4MATIC, due to a software issue in the engine control module. Meanwhile, Volkswagen discovered a braking system software defect, affecting 4,226 units of the Audi Q4 40 e-tron and another model.
On the other hand, Toyota announced the recall of 2,722 units of the Sienna Hybrid due to improperly secured seat belts in the third row. Stellantis will recall 1,731 units of the Chrysler 300C due to insufficient durability of the fuel pump components. At the same time, Ford confirmed the recall of 1,535 units of the Nautilus because of a software issue in the door control module.
These recalls represent a critical step in ensuring vehicle safety in the market and preventing potential risks for consumers.
