Morocco Successfully Vaccinates Over 8 Million Children Against Measles

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine El Tahraoui, announced that the government has adopted a comprehensive plan to combat measles, also known as “Bouhmarn,” by expanding the national vaccination campaign to ensure the highest possible coverage for children.

As a result of these efforts, the vaccination status of more than 8.88 million children under the age of 18 has been verified, as part of a strategy aimed at strengthening community immunity and protecting the most vulnerable groups against the disease.

The plan also included strengthening epidemiological surveillance mechanisms by intensifying health monitoring campaigns in the most affected areas, with rapid intervention teams on the ground to ensure an effective and timely response.
