Morocco’s reservoir levels reach 28% amid snowfall over 20,000 square kilometers

The reservoirs in various regions of Morocco have shown a significant improvement in the amount of stored water, thanks to the heavy rainfall and snowfall that have affected the northern regions of the country, which will contribute to increasing the volume of water in the hydraulic infrastructure. Rain and snow have been falling since the end of January and are expected to continue until next Tuesday.

According to the latest updates from the Directorate General of Water Engineering, the Moroccan dams have reached more than 4.66 billion cubic meters of water, representing about 28% of the total capacity of the dams.

This percentage is expected to increase significantly in the coming days with the continuation of rain and snow. Compared to the same period last year, when the dams contained only 3.73 billion cubic meters, this improvement is notable.
