Morocco Achieves a Breakthrough in Citrus Production and Expects to Exceed 2 Million Tons for the 2024/2025 Season
Morocco’s citrus production is expected to see a significant increase during the 2024/2025 season, surpassing the two-million-ton mark. The production of mandarins and clementines will reach 1.1 million tons, while orange production will amount to 960,000 tons, and lemon and lime production will total 45,000 tons, further strengthening the country’s position as one of the world’s leading exporters of these fruits.
This increase is attributed to improved climatic conditions during the flowering period compared to previous seasons, as well as the adoption of drip irrigation techniques that have helped enhance yields.
As a result, demand for Moroccan citrus fruits has risen in international markets, particularly in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
