Musk Sues Companies for Illegally Boycotting X

Elon Musk filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against an advertising agency and several large corporations, accusing them of an “illegal boycott” of his platform, which he claims has caused him billions of dollars in losses.

Musk wrote in a post on X: “We tried to resolve this amicably for two years. Let the battle begin today.”

Musk accuses these companies of anti-competitive practices in a lawsuit filed against the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) in a Texas federal court.

Among the targeted groups are Mars and Unilever, the British and Dutch food giants, as well as the large American pharmacy chain CVS Health and the Danish energy company Ørsted.

In court documents seen by AFP, Musk accuses the WFA of working secretly, through its GARM initiative (Global Alliance for Responsible Media), with these groups and others, with the aim of “depriving the social media platform X of billions of dollars in advertising revenue.”
