Morocco Heads Towards a Promising Future in Artificial Intelligence

Alalam24, Ali Kettani, head of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University’s Institute of Computing, stressed that Morocco is looking towards promising horizons in the fields of artificial intelligence. Kettani pointed to the existence of significant human capital based on the talents of young Moroccans who have succeeded in publishing their research at leading international conferences.

He explained that there is an urgent need to establish institutions and schools capable of meeting the challenges related to the digital world and artificial intelligence. He also called for encouraging teachers to create infrastructures and institutions capable of keeping up with developments in the field of artificial intelligence.

Kettani praised the contribution of the Institute of Computing to the development of this field by attracting young talents and providing an educational path that allows students to specialize in information science. He highlighted the importance of inspiring young people to publish their research and contribute to the development of the field.

Kettani also spoke about the importance of relying on artificial intelligence and digitization at the national and regional levels. He explained that the aim of establishing the Institute of Computing is to contribute to the development of this field and provide an educational path for young talents, in addition to offering a PhD program and developing scientific research.

He concluded his speech by stressing that “Science Week” is an ideal opportunity to strengthen communication and networking between students, and to highlight the successes of science and innovation. It also provides a platform to showcase the benefits of artificial intelligence and its positive impacts, especially with regard to environmental challenges such as climate change, energy, and water.
