Bulgaria Welcomes Morocco’s Efforts to Resolve the Issue of the Moroccan Sahara
Alalam24, Bulgaria welcomed on Wednesday the “serious and credible efforts” made by the Kingdom of Morocco to settle the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, considering the Moroccan initiative for autonomy as “serious and credible” to resolve this conflict
This position was expressed in a joint statement adopted in Rabat by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Ms. Maria Gabriel
In this joint statement, Bulgaria reiterated its support for the efforts made under the auspices of the United Nations to reach a fair, practical, permanent, and acceptable political solution for the parties to the Moroccan Sahara conflict
The two parties also reaffirmed their support for the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Staffan de Mistura, to bring the parties to negotiations and advance the political process
They also reiterated their support for the MINURSO mission, as stated in the joint statement
