Commemorating the Birth of the Prophet Muhammad
Alalam24, Amir al-Mu’minin, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God support him, presided over an evening religious ceremony at Hassan Mosque in Rabat on Wednesday, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, His Highness Prince Moulay Ahmed, and His Highness Prince Moulay Ismail. The ceremony was held to celebrate the noble birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
During this religious ceremony, marked by the recitation of clear verses from the Holy Quran and the chanting of noble praises for the Prophet, Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Toufik, delivered a speech before His Majesty the King, in which he presented an overview of the activities of the Higher Council of Religious Scholars and local religious councils. He then presented a report related to these activities to His Majesty
The Minister stated that scholars are fully aware that His Majesty the King has provided them with all the conditions to carry out their mission. He highlighted that the latest measure to enhance the work of the scientific institution was His Majesty’s support this year for the supervision of the Secretariat General of the Higher Council of Religious Scholars and the establishment of regional religious councils, as well as expanding membership in local religious councils
Mr. Toufik added that the scholars of the Higher Council of Religious Scholars and local religious councils work in the field of spreading the message, which is their primary mission, by delivering a clear message based on their experience in the previous period
Following that, Amir al-Mu’minin presented the Mohammed VI Honorary Award for Islamic Thought and Studies to Mr. Ibrahim Ed Ibrahim from the city of Agadir. This award is given annually as recognition for distinguished national and international scholarly figures, encouraging them to conduct high-level research in the field of Islamic studies in line with the teachings of Sharia, which emphasize the pursuit of knowledge and it righteous application
Furthermore, on this occasion, His Majesty the King presented the Mohammed VI International Award for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Quran to Mr. Hamza Sabou from the city of Tangier. His Majesty also presented the Mohammed VI International Award for Quranic Memorization in the Tajweed category, along with the memorization of five Juz’ (sections) of the Quran, to Mr. Omar bin Abdulaziz Al-Buraidi from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Amir al-Mu’minin also presented the Mohammed VI Honorary Award for Moroccan Calligraphy on Paper to Ms. Saida Al-Kayyali from Casablanca and the Mohammed VI Award for Excellence in Moroccan Calligraphy on Paper to Mr. Khalid Asbisi from Taroudant
Additionally, Amir al-Mu’minin presented the Mohammed VI Honorary Award for Arabic Calligraphy to Mr. Lahcen Fersaoui from Marrakech and the Mohammed VI Award for Excellence in Arabic Calligraphy to Ms. Asmaa Ait Akhti from Salé
Following these presentations, Amir al-Mu’minin received members of the Mohammed VI Award for Islamic Thought and Studies committee, including Professors Mohammed Yassif, Mohammed Al-Kattani, Mustafa Ben Hamza, Idriss Khalifa, Ashhad Al-Bouchehiki, Ahmed Shouqi Benbain, Abdelhamid Al-Alami, Idriss Ben Al-Dawia, Mohammed Jameel Mubarak, Khadija Abu Zeid, Farida Zamro, and Abdelaziz Oualassi
This religious ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, the Presidents of the two chambers of Parliament, a number of advisors to His Majesty, members of the government, heads of constitutional institutions, senior officers of the Royal Armed Forces, members of the accredited Islamic diplomatic corps in Rabat, and many other civil and military personalities
Amir al-Mu’minin’s observance of this blessed night follows the example of his benevolent ancestors who consistently celebrated the birth of their grandfather, the chosen one, peace and blessings be upon him. His birth marked the birth of a nation that has and will remain the best of nations brought forth to people, commanding what is right and forbidding what is wrong. He is the trustworthy Messenger, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, whose birth illuminated the world, filled it with light and guidance, thanks to the content of the Muhammadan message, which promotes values of justice, equality, moderation, and the call to righteous deeds, tolerance among people of different religions and cultures, and coexistence among all. This is to spread prosperity and peace among all people
