Mr. Baraka discusses with the Head of the Palestinian Water Authority in New York

Alalam24, The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, held talks at the United Nations headquarters in New York with the Head of the Palestinian Water Authority, Mazen Ghunaim.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday on the sidelines of the United Nations Water Conference (March 22-24), focused on the roadmap for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on enhancing cooperation between Morocco and Palestine in the field of water resources, which was signed in 2015.

The two sides also discussed sharing Morocco’s successful experiences and expertise in water management with Palestine.

Mr. Baraka leads the Moroccan delegation participating in this international conference, which is dedicated to studying the midterm assessment on the implementation of the Action Decade for Water (2018-2028), announced by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2016.

During the conference’s plenary session, the minister highlighted the main lines of Morocco’s integrated water resources management strategy, and emphasized that under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and through its national policy, Morocco has been able to secure its water needs by developing a wide-ranging water infrastructure.
